A parking ban will be in effect in Canton, Ohio, starting on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 12:01 a.m. until Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 12:01 p.m. The ban includes all streets within the city limits and is being implemented for the safety of plow drivers and first responders.
"Andrea M. Perry, Director of Public Safety, emphasized the importance of the parking ban in helping plow drivers clear the roads more safely and efficiently," according to the official press release from Canton City Hall.
Residents with driveways, garages, or other off-street parking options are urged to refrain from parking on the street. If off-street parking is not available, individuals are asked to park on the side of the street with even-numbered addresses.
The parking ban also applies to downtown Canton, and individuals who work or plan to visit the area are advised to use surface parking lots or parking decks during the ban.
The press release recommends that people avoid traveling unless absolutely necessary and suggests canceling any public events scheduled during this time.
It is important to note that vehicles found in violation of the parking ban may be ticketed or towed.
This parking ban is a proactive measure to ensure the safety and efficiency of snow removal efforts in Canton. By following the guidelines and cooperating with the parking ban, residents can contribute to the smooth operation of plow drivers and emergency responders.
